Hi, at West Sussex building maintenance and repairs I cover a wide range of trades, from small repairs to whole projects.
I'm based in Horsham and prefer working locally but for larger projects working outside West Sussex can become an option.
I started trade work in 1999 as a plasterers labourer, learning the trade myself by 2001.
I then focused on learning dry- lining aswell, this covers such a wide range of aspects to the trade that it's literally a book to list them, but I stuck to it and eventually learned all dry-lining applications by 2007.
I then worked as a shop and window fitter till 2009.
Then I using what I'd learnt drylining applied for a 1st fix carpenter and tile ceiling fitter position working for Balfour, worked there till 2013.
Through the knowledge base I had built by this point I started up this company in 2013, things were hard so I had to take another job as an apprentice plumber at the same time as trying to secure my own work.
After about 2 years of doing both I knew how to complete whole domestic plumbing and drainage jobs aswell, so I started to take on bathroom jobs by 2015.
I started helping a friend out landscape gardening, laying driveways and also roofing as in the pandemic as nobody was hiring builders to come inside their house unless it was a real emergency. After years of internal trade work I loved it, however outside work is seasonal.
Since the pandemic I have taken on jobs in all areas of my knowledge base.
Plastering and rendering.
Bathroom fitting.
Roofing, soffit fascia and gutter replacements.
Conservatory's and extensions.
Ground work, drainage and footings.
Shop refitting.
And lots more.
