Gutter Cleaning and Maintenance for Bungalow
Despite the fact that we had asked for a quote on cleaning pine needles from down pipes, the other went up a ladder and *pulled* a piece of tile off the roof of a new build bungalow. He then went on to quote £800 to my 80 year old mother to ‘correct’ the job (ie put it back how it was before he pulled it apart. Their intention was clearly to rip off a vulnerable 80 year old woman. Unfortunately I was taken in by their conning nonsense. They then quoted £170 to ‘put the tile back’ …..which a few seconds later went up to £210! Luckily my mother is NOT the vulnerable old confused woman they thought she was - she has been a very shrewd business woman all her life. Despite this, because he was stood there with the tile in his hand, she agreed to pay him the £200 to come and fix it the following morning. Around an hour later, she asked me call and cancel them, which I did. I called one of the brothers - I spoke to Jimmy, so I left a message on his mobile cancelling the work. Around an hour later his brother James called - intending to speak to my *mother*. His attitude was antagonistic, aggressive and abrupt -which would have been directed at my mother had I not answered her mobile. He then hung up on me with no explanation.
