Being a plumber, I possess a variety of skills that are essential for work. Some of my key skills include:
Technical expertise - I am skilled in installing, repairing and maintaining plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures and appliances like water heaters.
Manual dexterity - In work with tools and equipment to make precise adjustments and repairs in often tight spaces.
Physical stamina - My job of plumbing can be physically demanding, requiring strength and endurance to work in various environments.
By combing these skills, as a plumber I can effectively address a wide range of plumbing issues, from simple repairs to complex installations, ensuring that water systems in homes and buildings function properly.
Being in the business for 15+ years has allowed me to gain knowledge and attain further developed skills. I undertake a variety of tasks and am always mentally and physically prepared to complete tasks to the best of my ability. I assess the situation beforehand so that I can prepare for the most quick and convenient way a job can be completed which is beneficial for me and my clients.
As well as being a gas safe engineer, I possess a range of skills to work safely and effectively with gas appliances. I am professionally trained and qualified to install, maintain and repair gas appliances and systems. Some key skills of mine include:
Gas safety knowledge - of gas safety regulations, procedures and best practices to ensure the safe operation of gas appliances is what I have a deep understanding of.
Attention to detail - To ensure installations and repairs are done correctly, I pay close attention to safety protocols, regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
Communication skills - I often interact with clients to explain issues, provide recommendations and ensure safety measures are understood.
Problem solving abilities - I am able to analyse complex situations, identify root causes of the problems and implement effective solutions.
Regulatory compliance - as a gas safe engineer, I adhere to Gas Safe Register regulations to maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
These skills collectively enable me to carry out work professionally and safely, ensuring the smooth functioning of gas appliances while prioritising safety for both myself and my clients.
I withhold a full Gas Safe qualification as well as City and Guilds (level 1, 2 and 3) qualifications in plumbing. I also have a g3 unvented hot water cylinder qualification.
