Rooster Contractor is a relatively young company, registered in 2018 by Rafal Kogut in Hereford, where the three counties of: Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire, Rafal Kogut, his passion for bricklaying with natural stone, owes his emigration to England where he worked for a stonemason and bricklayer. They taught him how to make ordinary sandstone, limestone in combination with a brick or a block, create something original in the garden as well as in the home of a client like: reteining walls, boundary walls, flagstones, paths, indian slabs, steps or natural stone veneers such as fireplaces in homes, floors or walls.
If the client wishes and it is only possible, we use used materials to adapt to the existing landscape, which also makes us competitive in the price for the work
Very good job and price
Rafal and his men on first impression seemed helpful/friendly and trustworthy and I assumed would be hard working and conscientious like past Polish builders that I’ve used. However they exaggerated the hours they worked, they took cigarette breaks constantly thus slowlingbtheir work rate considerably, they provided a dark stone to build my fireplace instead of the lighter Cotswold stone that I chose. I ended up chiselling away the stonework Rafal had partly built and put all 100 plus’s stone bricks at the front of the house to make it easier for him to take back. He got most of his £450 back which I had paid for in advance but I didn’t get it back! His plumber I don’t think was qualified and caused a leak and an ugly mess of a job which had to be totally redone at my expense of course and that was £300 cash never to be seen again. I’ve marks in carpet where they didn’t take care of dust sheets and walls covered in dust marks where again dust sheets weren’t used. So for £2300 I managed to get just one bathroom floor tiled(good job but grouting wasn’t started) one other bathroom wall tiling done( good job except mess around the ceiling), a small amount of karndean put down though with gaps around the edges!) Some tiling around a mirror(no grouting) plasterboarding around the fireplace(badly done) where I had hoped a nice stone fireplace would have been built, two tiles out over a sink downstairs but not grouted and a huge tile stuck above another sink that I didn’t ask to be done . Will have to cut out plasterboard to remove it. The doors were mostly left off and the two that were cut shorter were left far too short. And then the bodge job on my plumbing. Avoid like the plague I say unless using for tiling and paying only on a job quote and never by the hour. Get it on paper too. I trusted him enough to give him £2000 in advance but that was very silly of me
Rafael and Bart were great, on time, courteous, clean and tidy. Excellent attention to detail. Great job. Removed old laminate, tiled the kitchen floor and cloakroom. Also able to do extra jobs for us including sourcing the skirting boards, and plastering. Will definitely use again.
