* Update, I hired Gary & team to remove an old shed and build a new insulated and lined garden room. Unfortunately, there were issues with the build and due to heavy rainfall evident mould formed and spread very quickly. I am updating my review as I am giving Gary the opportunity to rectify the mistakes made. I will update a full and final update when building is airtight and weatherproof. I have thought hard about how I need to review Pricecut Joiners so I have been as honest as possible in relation to the main issues. I hired Gary and his team to dismantle and remove an old shed, and replace it with a new larger insulated and lined garden room/shed. I agreed terms with Gary and the job started on 3 Nov 2024. Being aware of the time of year and possible unfavourable weather conditions I asked Gary to confirm possible timescale for completion of works. He informed me it would take '4-5 days weather depending' to complete. As it turned out the weather was not an issue. But unfortunately, this job took almost a full month to complete. At the start all was good and I cannot fault the labourers as they were all polite and friendly and going over and above and being very helpful. Gary was on other jobs so very rarely present. There were 3-4 lads working together on the days they were working on my premises. However, they appeared to be working on a lot of jobs at the one time. They would attend my property and work on the project for 4-5 hours max then leave to go to another job when still a lot had to be done with my job. Then it would be 2-3 days before they returned to my project. One of the lads had to go to hospital due to health conditions so Gary was an experienced joiner down. This delayed matters slightly which I did account for but 3-4 weeks is a long time with a crew of 4 labourers. No dedication was given to completing my project. Gary asked me for almost half the cost of the job upfront for materials which I was happy to do on the understanding the full balance would be paid on completion of the job. On 4 more occasions Gary asked me for money to 'pay wages etc'. To my regret, I paid the final bill in full on the proviso all waste materials would be removed ASAP. This did not happen and the rubbish lay in my garden for a full week whilst Gary was on holiday. Then to make matters worse he sent men to remove the waste materials at 730pm in the evening in the pitch dark. These lads were using a torch to do this. Not only was this unsafe but had I not been home my neighbours would have been concerned. All finishing touches I was promised did not happen and I am taking care of those myself. The main construction of the building is solid but no insulation was factored around the doors or roof (as Gary 'ran out of time') therefore the space is permanently cold in the winter weather conditions and I have noted mould forming around the door area. These matters I feel I need to deal with myself as pretty much deflated by Gary's responses to my questions and issues. He took a long time to read or reply to my messages and just apologies but doesn't address the issues with any level of haste. If anyone decides to use Pricecut Joiners to take on your project, my advice would be - do not pay full balance until the job is complete and you are entirely happy with the result. And do not expect it to be completed quickly. Unfortunately, I do not intend to use them again.
Great job of building my shed, went above and beyond. Would greatly recommend to anyone looking for a shed to be built
