Robin, the tradesperson, quoted for the job and gave a start date and timescale. He sent details of what to buy. I bought what he suggested. He damaged the goods. He and a colleague were extremely untidy and not competent to the job. They rubbished the work that had been done before, that in fact was working for the last 10 years. They were late every day and was in a rush to leave when they did turn up. What they suggested to get was ill fitted. In fact the bath shower screen was installed back to front, with a seal upside down and vital parts missing. It was fitted in a way that it does not operate at all correctly as well as leaving gaps. Therefore not watertight! They replaced the bath, plumbed the cold and hot taps in reverse. Charged me for new paupers and waste, and actually left and reused the old pipes and waste. Poured grout down these pipes. Thus actually “blocking” them. The bath was left leaking into the kitchen below. They changed the sink and vanity unit. It was not installed flush and was left leaking in to the downstairs. Which he was informed about on the Friday after installation and didn’t come to remedy until the following Tuesday !!!! He tiled the flooring, which required the need for the toilet to be removed. The flooring only need to be tiled because he had broken a tile and said the previous workmanship was poor. He told me the tiles I had spare weren’t enough. So I had to buy new. It turned out that the tiles I needed for the job was actually enough as he didn’t tile everywhere as he said he would. His colleague, who I had to pay for, didn’t actually work for two of the days. One day, he sat outside in his car, using my WiFi and completing, he told me, his wife’s speeding course “because she did it for me last time’ The second day, he was at college (a mature student) doing his plumbing course. In the meantime they damaged my walls and wallpaper. “Oops. Sorry about that” is all we got. No offer to put right or compensate. Made me pay while on the job… twice. Telling me the work was done, they’ll come back to “seal”. “Close the door and don’t use” Tried to get them back. I was ghosted, ignored and lied to. Absolutely terrible experience.
