Extension
USE AT YOUR PERIL!!!!! Only put in 1 star as 0 was not available!! We started an extension with Patrick (then called Patrick Teehan Building Services, also previously known as Cardiff Construction apparently. He now has registered a new business on 17th August this year under PT Carpentry obviously trying to scam people under his new company name!) Our single story extension started March 4th this year, supposedly a 10 week build. We had a guaranteed quote at the start to be paid in 6 separate stages. Patrick contracted the job out and we literally only saw him when he would come around for money. Even though we had a guaranteed quote, due to the ground work they had to do, Patrick asked for more money which we agreed to. The contractors day started anywhere from 9 to 11.30 and was usually finished by 3! For majority of the time there would only be a young lad left at the sight while the other one went to get materials etc. In June, 15 weeks into a 10 week build things started going very wrong and we were often left with no one turning up at our build. We were then informed that Patrick had not been paying the contractors so they refused to carry on the job and took their tools. Patrick was then going to complete the job himself. At this point we had already paid the next stage when things had been going ok! So he needed to complete stage 5! After a week of no shows, we were then informed by his previous business partner, John, that he had admitted himself into a mental health unit for ex servicemen. This in our eyes was the lowest of the low to hide behind mental health!! It turns out he was actually on holiday in West Wales! This was the final nail in the coffin and as he had broken his contract we told him we were terminating and wanted our stage 5 money back, which is a substantial amount if money! We have had every excuse under the sun as to why we are still awaiting our money back, from divorces, to heart attacks, angina!! We are now supposedly waiting on an equity release before he can pay us back! We have got solicitors involved and trading standards have a number of complainants they are dealing with and preparing statements from. Needless to say we are still awaiting our money back. He is now refusing to return our calls. We have had to get other builders involved to put right the roof as this was not fit for purpose! PLEASE!! PLEASE!! PLEASE!! DO NOT USE THIS MAN AS HE IS LEAVING A TRAIL OF DESTRUCTION AND HEARTACHE BEHIND HIM AND SEEMS TO HAVE NO CARE FOR HIS VICTIMS.
