We had a problem with our kitchen extension. It was leaking at the Velux windows and further down the slope above the kitchen window and the exit door. John came and climbed on our roof and said he will fix the leaks by installing eave trays at the bottom section of the roof and by replacing the Velux windows. In the meanwhile, we had another experienced local roofer come and see our roof and informed us that the problem will be solved only by removing all the tiles, batons and re-felting and putting new batons and by properly securing the new Velux windows. He said the problem is with the pitch of the roof. It is our mistake that we dint go with the experienced roofer because the quote was £1000 extra as compared to John and John said he will give us 8 years guarantee. Also, the experienced roofer was very busy and not available immediately to do the work and we wanted to fix the problem asap. Terrible mistake. We asked John how much he will charge to do the work the experienced roofer suggested, however John confidently said that entire re-felting is not needed and that he will fix the leaks by putting eave trays and replacing the Velux. He said he is giving 8 years guarantee. We decided to go with John. John gave us the size of the Velux windows and we placed the order for the Windows. Once the Velux windows arrived, John came to do the work. First alarm bell. The window size which John gave was wrong. They were very big. He tried to wriggle out by telling us that he will fit the windows and we will get more light because of bigger windows. Thank God we didn’t agree and told him to get our existing size. Next day he himself went and got Velux windows of the correct size but didn’t bring the low pitch Velux windows which we had agreed to. He fixed the new Velux windows and put the eave trays and we paid him. When it rained after a week our worst fears came true. More water was coming in. It became worse after John did the work. Water started leaking from the new Velux windows and where it was leaking earlier. We contacted John. John did not come but sent his guys to look next day. His guy tells me that the problem is with the pitch and that we will have to remove all the tiles, batons and re-felt the entire roof and to talk to John for a new discounted quote. When I told him we had already suggested that to John in the first place, he tells me - “Roofing is a trial-and-error job”. Since John had gives us 8 years guarantee, we tried to call him but he stopped answering our calls from that day. I sent him multiple emails, whatsapp and text messages but no response. I have been continuously calling him for the last 3 weeks but he is not answering and has blocked me on whatsapp and hence I have decided to write this review. His guarantee means nothing when he decides not to answer the phone and block. We will be complaining to the ombudsman and consider other options as we have lost our money.

Very good job done on my flat roof. John cleaned up old roof material even vacuumed my kitchen and hall way. Highly recommended.

John and the team came out and done the work and was fast and effective couldn’t recommend them anymore thanks John
