Jack, is not a jack of all trades. He claims to be a roofer and a plumber. He did half a roof job, removed part of moss, didn't replace the tiles correctly which caused a leak inside the house. And presented fake photos of the job. When he was informed of the poir work, he recommended he would return for more money as he reduced his fee by £20!! On the first visit! He also misdiagnosed a plumbing issue. His main goal is simply to get money by any means.

Internal Painting & Decorating
Jack came to hang the wallpaper in my small 4x2.5m study room. He assured me he knew what he was doing, and unfortunately, I trusted him. When he finished the job, I was shocked to discover that most of the wallpaper was covered in glue, it was smudged all over and messy. Jack worked all day but never once used a wet cloth or a sponge (which he didn't even bring with him), so the glue was everywhere, including my newly painted white ceiling! My dark blue (very expensive, over £70 per roll) wallpaper was looking shockingly dirty. Upon closer inspection, I also noticed there were white gaps showing in multiple places (where the paper was not joined together properly), particularly in the corners, where the white gaps were very visible and quite ugly. In some areas the wallpaper was already coming off! Around the window and doorframe – not a single straight line, completely uneven, misaligned, as Jack also neglected to bring a spirit level with him. The end result was horrible. Feeling extremely upset and let down, I decided to contact an experienced decorator for a second opinion. I ended up inviting 3 different guys (all with 30 years of experience), to come and give me advice on how to correct the mess Jack had made. The decorator’s reaction upon seeing Jacks "work" was utter shock and disbelief. They each explained that the adhesive/glue should have been removed immediately (a common knowledge of any professional decorator). Because once the glue is dry, there is no way to remove it without damaging the wallpaper! The decorator's advice, was to strip the messy wallpaper entirely, as the damage caused by Jack was IRREPERABLE. So, I had no choice but to do just that. There was no way I could live with such dirty-looking walls in my newly decorated study room. I wish I could post the photos here I took as evidence, but unfortunately, Myjobquote website does not provide this option for customers. In retrospect, Jack had absolutely no clue what he was doing. He didn’t have the basic knowledge, skills, or even the right tools to carry out the job. Jack has caused me and my wife a great deal of stress and anxiety, as well as significant financial loss (over one thousand pounds), as I now have to strip the walls, and start from scratch… To people reading this – before hiring anyone, always take your time and do your research.

Jack is a pleasent guy, however his personality writes cheques far above his skill level. Paid Jack a £1000 for labour only too paint and put flooring down in a small maisonette. I bought all paint and flooring separate myself! I bought 10ltrs of undercoat, to find out Jack doesn't use undercoat, only filler. Now finished the colour of the wall previously is now bleeding through and some holes and dents in walls were not filled or sanded. I bought gloss paint to find Jack doesn't paint gloss, he uses a third party to paint the gloss. Now finished, this painter painted over old gloss and nails, he didn't prepare or sand the gloss work, also didn't use undercoat. Painting overall 6/10 Flooring again wasn't fitted by Jack. The work ethic of David was excellent. However all sawing was done in the room they were filting, sawdust on top of underlay, leaving sawdust coming up for years to come. Around the doors there are big gaps and saw marks. The Beeding isn't fit correctly and coming off a few days later, nails on the Beeding bent over. I asked over two weeks to come and fix, he chose not to reply!! Floor fitting 4/10

JRY&SONSo sorry you feel this way Steve. From the get go. I explained how to carry out the job and the best way possible. I then proceeded to give you a price for the works. From what I remember you wanted the job carried out for a considerably lower fee. As explained to you at the time that the work will not be 100% perfect due to your budget. But you still was happy to use my company. You was on an unrealistic timeframe as I explained. We are happy to come back and rectify works but the price given does not get you a perfect job as explained on multiple occasions

Jack completed the job to a high standard. He is punctual and reliable and does not waste any time. Also a very trustworthy and a professional who must be the tidiest and cleanest decorator I have ever come across! He listens and makes sensible, helpful suggestions. He may not be the cheapest, but his work is excellent. I also liked the fact that he does not request any payment up front but only at the end after his work is nearly finished .
