WARNING: quoted £150, ended paying £270. Worked a total of less than an hour and never completed the job (and even took my new bulbs away with him). Sloppy, dirty unfinished work, threatening and aggressive person, rushed and dishonest. To be avoided. Day 1: Quoted £150 for works and asked for £80 on top for cost of materials. Starting work he was leaving dirt marks with his fingers on walls and ceilings but said “he had no choice because he needed to use his hands, but would wipe them clean after”. After 20 minutes he said the job was much easier than thought and he was almost finished already. He would return to finish the next day and asked for full payment. I agreed to pay half. Day 2: He showed up 2 hours late and continued work for about 20 minutes. Left even more dirt marks on walls, and I tried to clean them in front of him but they were not wiping off. His work was sloppy, rushed, and he actually damaged one of the areas around a light (He said all I had to do was use a bit of paint to hide the damage). He kept saying he could have charged “much more” by lying about certain things, but kept repeating how honest he was. He hurriedly left after 20 minutes and said he would return to complete the last few things. He asked for the other half of payment, and texted repeatedly asking “have you done payment yet?”, “when are you going to make payment?” “I need payment now”. I transferred payment. Day 3: He called and said he needed to get more materials, and needed to charge £40 more because he had found a fault and it would be extra work. I told him to send me the receipt for the materials first (which I had asked him on the first two days already). He called over and over again, and sent almost 20 text messages, pleading and threatening “you will have problems unless you pay me right now” “if you don’t transfer the money to me before I send you another message you will have problems”. I held firm and insisted he send me the screwfix receipt first. He finally said he would, and sent me a receipt after an hour. It seemed some of it had been altered, so I went online and added up all the materials: the receipt said £80 but the items added up to £50. He called and I told him it didn’t add up, to which he said they only gave him 1 out of 2 receipts “due to Covid”, and he would get the second receipt for me. He said he needed the extra money transferred immediately and he would get me the second receipt and how could I not “trust him?”. I transferred the extra £40 and since then he has never answered my calls or texts to finish the work or bring the materials I paid for. I called him every day until he blocked my number. I later realised he had removed working bulbs from my other lamps and used them instead of the new bulbs he charged me for!! He actually took all the newly purchased bulbs away with him. I contacted myjobquote.com and sent proof about his unfinished work and faked screwfix receipt. They said they would contact him about him. Over a month later and they still have not received a reply.gave me his full details (he was using a fake name). They advised me to get a lawyer involved as they only make introductions and do not get involved in disputes. I did not get a lawyer but made some alternative arrangements. AVOID THIS GUY: dishonest, dirty and sloppy rushed job. Becomes aggressive and threatening if not paid in full before job is finished. Will then increase his quote because of “extra faults”, and create fake receipts for materials costs. Watch your possessions when he is inside the property. Left job unfinished despite being paid fully and then paid extra for “additional faults found”. The name and address listed on his profile are not his but belong to his girlfriend/ ex-girlfriend.

JB Handyman started work and he did first day work is good but he could not complete work on time.. he was not available most of the time and it took one week time to complete the work.

Though the tradesman was very late that was due to unforeseeable circumstances. He fin I shed the job in the time he had stated and did it very well, clearing up after himself. I am pleased with the job he did. I have now a well lit garage.
