I wish there was a rating higher than excellent that I could choose here. James carried out the following work for me: 1 - seal and repaint bathroom ceiling. The extractor fan working had caused elements of the paint to crack away and despite doing this myself multiple times it had never worked, always peeling away a few days later. It has been a month now since he has done it and it looks perfect. 2 - paint and extend shelving in the under stairs cupboard. This is Rock solid and has provided allot more storage space to use. 3 - the largest job by far was painting and installing multiple levels of deep shelving all across 3 of the walls of my coal shed/ out door room. The walls are red brick, difficult to work with and not even. Despite this he put in perfectly to scale shelves that are anchored well and have given me so much more space to work with. 4 - creating bespoke stacked recycling box and bin storage. 5 - installing and painting wood boards to close off the coal room sloped ceiling which had previously been covered over with corrugated sheet. 6 - plugging and patching sections of the out door patio with concrete that had eroded or worn since its installation. The key factors that make James a great choice for me where: 1: affordability. He quoted a fair price for the work at hand. I find that handymen have a tendency of inflating their prices if it’s sectional or varied work which James did not do. 2: responsiveness. James was communicative and reactive to all my questions throughout the entire process. He quoted straight away and there was no guessing as to any aspect of the process. 3. Work ethic. James worked hard from the second he arrived to the second he left. Leaving me with the comfort that I was getting the most out of the time he had quoted for the work. 4. Punctuality. James arrived on time every day and communicated any updates as and when they were needed 5. Trustworthiness. I had to leave him in the house when I went to work. I was happy to leave him with my keys knowing that everything was safe. 6. Attitude. It might just be my observation. But I feel like since Covid some tradesmen act like they are the ones doing you the favour just by rocking up to do the work. James provides a great service at a fair price and I would recommend him to anyone. His skill set is varied such that he could do anything I asked him to do. He took everything in his stride and I really appreciated that. 7. Tidiness - James never left the work area in a mess. Always taking the time at the end of the day to clean up. This was a small detail that made a big impact for me in terms of his professionalism.
