Review of job done by Happy Builder, Sergiusz Lawrik (Sergio). The quote for the job and the invoice had no detail such as expected hours or days needed, hourly or daily rate, estimate of square metres of wall or of ceiling. The quote for the job was high but I felt it was justified considering the bad state of the walls. (Old wall-paper had been stripped off.) Sergio worked alone and brought his own tools and equipment, plaster and primer, which suited me well. Sergio did a good job on big sections of wall that needed full replastering and allowed for adequate drying time. He scraped, repaired with plaster, and sanded most of the minor wall damage and imperfections well. (Exceptions: Two socket holes were not soundly filled and plastering left rough; some gaps in the walls just above skirting boards were missed; a few small areas needing sanding were missed.) Protection of floors and of furniture that could not be moved out was well done; no furniture had spots of paint afterwards. Taping of skirting boards, door frames and window frames was less careful. There are numerous thin streaks to be cleaned off. Sergio discussed a tint in the final (white) paint with me and I agreed to his recommendation. I am pleased with the resulting colour. Sweeping up and tidying up at the end of the job was done well. Sergio always called/messaged on the phone if he had to change the time of a work session. Overall, I recommend him as a plasterer and painter.
