    Access Control / Door Entry

I received a quote from Mr Garard Joyce on 14 November 2023. His initial professionalism and willingness to accommodate my needs led me to believe he was a reliable individual with whom I could conduct business. On 16 November 2023, we entered into a legally binding contract wherein he requested an initial deposit of £2100 to purchase the necessary materials for the job. In good faith, I promptly transferred the requested amount through my bank on the same day. He assured me the materials would be procured then, and work would commence on 23 November for two days. However, to my dismay, the agreed-upon start date passed without his communication. My attempts to contact him were met with complete disregard, and he falsely claimed to be bedridden and unwell, feigning illness as an excuse for his unavailability. This charade continued for an extended period until the truth finally emerged – he was facing financial difficulties and had misappropriated the deposit I had entrusted to him for personal purposes. During our last telephone conversation on 14 December, he solemnly promised to refund my money in full without further delay by next Friday, 22 December. Regrettably, it is no surprise that the payment promised has yet to materialize. This has caused me significant inconvenience, financial loss, and distress. It leaves me with no choice but to pursue legal action to try and get my money back. I am convinced that [Gerry], as he is known, set out from the beginning to scam me. Yours sincerely, Chris

Joyce was very quick to react to the job, arrived on time and fitted the extractor fan .

    Plumbing Repair & Maintenance

Here are the reasons why I think Mr Gerard did a poor job. 1. He missed appointment time several times, sometimes be late by a few hours and kept my tenants waiting and postponing their appointments and university courses. 2. He tried to broke our agreement on the price in the middle of the work, even though he had checked and signed an agreement about the work and the price. 3. He didn't seal the pipe properly which caused a water leakage to the neighbours downstairs. 4. He promised to take out the old cylinder and other used materials, however after more than 20 days later, they are still lying on the communal corridor. We have tried to reach him but he refused calls and didn't reply any messages. Since the replaced materials are still being dumped at the communal area, I need to chase him to finish up what he promised to do. He needs to know that "broken van" isn't a good excuse to be used twice in a row to avoid something you should have done properly.

    Electrical Inspecting / Testing

I received a polite and very prompt service. The circuit was checked and tested as requested. If needed I will be asking Mr G Joyce to visit again.

    Water Tanks and Immersion Heater

G Joyce is an excellent tradesman. He is a professional who knows his onions. Carried out the job swiftly and efficiently, above all he is very reasonable and even did a follow up call to ensure the job is ok. I will highly recommend him to anyone looking for electric work.
