I am a qualified bricklayer with over 40 years experience. Rendering, pointing, stone masonry, and statue repairs are among the skills I have as a Restoration Technician. I became very interested in old building methods whilst studying A level History of Art and Architecture and Latin. I have since worked on many listed buildings and developments including voluntary restoration in church buildings. I have also used these skills as a maintenance/handyman for large sites such as Brighton University.
I love the challenge of taking on the unrepairable and making good.
I am also a freelance artist using painting and sculpture techniques to restore gargoyles, headstones, flint walls, ironworks and pictures.
I have aided a number of my church congregation to restore properties because they could not afford to use big restoration companies. My latest achievements have included restoring 10 condemned iron doors for Brighton University. Refreshing 30,000 limescale damaged bricks for a property development. Repairing sandstone window surroundings, repainting stainglass windows and gargoyles in a Church. Repairing a Chinese wooden dragon. Limestone rendering a listed old school building.
If you have a problem repair, companies are not prepared to address, then I am your man to get the job done.
