Friendly and patient chap but execution left a lot to be desired: debris left in the light fixtures, didn't earth lights until asked (at first denying the necessity), dimmer switch stopped working after being live wired several times, shocked himself on the dimmer switch, constantly dropping screws and small bits on the floor, also dropped larger heavier items that could have been damaged, didn't come with a basic toolkit and had to borrow several items, didn't clean up after himself. At one point shut off power to the entire house without cause and without seeking permission. Arrived more than an hour late at the wrong address and took much longer than anticipated to complete (circa 3 hours). As much as it pains me to say it, it's probably time for this old man to retire, as I could not trust him to do anything unattended.

Downey ElectricalThis rather unpleasant sanctimonious young man was very reluctant to let me use his garage space in a large unrestricted underground parking lot even though he lived in a highly restricted parking parking area,it was only after I was about 15 minutes into the job that he relented ,telling me to speak to his concierge who wasn't present. After telling him politely that his concierge was not present he reluctantly let me into his space. Unbelievable that he would let me take the chance of getting a parking ticket which would have been more than the price of the job, which incidentally was under priced. He then watched me work,giving me advice on how to do the work so much so that I did wonder why he did not do the job himself. I really should have realised what he was like after the garage fiasco and aborted the job but I am afraid I am too polite and customer friendly to do that. Then he explained to me that he could hear buzzing from a perfectly quiet dimmer switch.He quite insultingly explained that it was due to my age that I couldn't hear it. His supplied replacement for the noisy dimmer didn't work and he tried to blame me! All the time peering over my shoulder rather inanely telling me what a whizz he was while I was doing my upmost to get the job done and leave ASAP. My advice to any tradesman considering working for this person...DON'T DO IT! if you do charge accordingly
