Dan quoted me for a bathroom fit to include plumbing and tiling at the beginning of July. After finalising hardware, I gave him the go-ahead towards the end of July. At this point I was asked for a deposit to book the job in - 'I don't book anyone in with out a deposit we get messed around far to much without it' I was told. Not something I've done before or would usually entertain, but having come this far and needing the job completing swiftly, I agreed and paid (£1300). Job booked in for w/c 5th August, but nobody shows up. On the Friday of that week I contact Dan to see what's going on, at which point I'm assured he will show up the following week. The following week comes, and passes, without anybody showing up. At this point I ask that my deposit is returned the same day. I'm also forced to cancel my plasterer who was booked in to align with the completion of 1st fix. We reach the 23rd August and Dan still has my cash. I ask for a proof of transaction and I'm sent some screen-shots which indicate my refund had been processed (actioned that day). It states refunds may take 5-10 working days. On the 12th September I still don't have my deposit back, so I chase Dan again who says if it's not appeared by Monday, he'll cancel the transaction (not actually possible with the payment processor he uses) and wire the cash directly to my bank. Monday rolls around and as anticipated, no sign of my cash. Thankfully I had the foresight to use a credit card to pay said deposit, which means I was protected all along under Section 75 of the CCA. Chargeback issued and resolved swiftly. 0/10 do not recommend DMW Plumbing & Heating. Worth also noting he is using the Gas Safe Register & NICEIC Approved Contractor logos on his paperwork, but is in actual fact not certified by either at the time of writing.
Unreliable Did only half the job & disappeared. Never heard from again

Fitted me in around his planned trip as it was urgent - did leave a small leak that he sent someone out too as he was in a rush to get away so that cost extra but I would use again but give more notice
Daniel provided a detailed explanation of the works and a quote. He was able to fit the jobs in around his schedule and did a clean and tidy job. Keep him supplied with coffee and he works through to the finish, a good tradesman.

‘After installing 3 radiators one developed a leak. I contacted Dan to come and rectify which he initially agreed but then didn’t show up. He has since ghosted me. I paid £500 cash to him and now have to pay someone else to rectify his work as he won’t respond to my calls or messages’
