I paid £4400 as a deposit on the 17th April 2021 to replace a small conservatory and replace some guttering at the back of a small terraced house. I also paid £1400 when I was told it needed new footings to deliver the new conservatory. To date I have a building site., even when foolishly I agreed to pay another £1000 to get the job finished. There is not space to list the excuses I've been given to why the work has not been completed. I have had to employ another builder to finish the work at additional cost while I try to get a refund from Mr Cruickshank.

Porch / Canopy
We met with Christopher in January and agreed on the job: Front door Porch for £5000 and for the job to be finished 5 days after he received the doors and the windows. He confirmed to us that the door and windows will be delivered within 2 weeks after we paid the deposit.We agreed that he will order the doors and windows once he receives the deposit. We paid a deposit of £3000 on January 24. We are almost 3 months now. He came to our home twice to do the foundation work and never came back. . He said he is sick,. Then he said he will send someone else to do the job. Few days later, he said that person let him down and he will come back himself the following week.. The following weeks, again, he is sick. we tried everything with him to get the job done, send someone or give us the money back. I will share the pictures of our driveway. He left his materials here, making it very unsafe for my children and the family. I could never recommend him. This is nightmare situation for us now.

C&K Property DevelopmentsI would like to make it abundantly clear that the job has been started with the footings for the porch dug out and a dwarf wall built to accommodate the doors and windows required. In the meantime, Rosaline rearranged the style of porch she wanted i.e., a brick wall to the side instead of the windows originally quoted for and I had to contact my window supplier and arrange for him to collect the original frames so that they may be altered to fit the new configuration of brickwork, unfortunately this was not possible so a whole new order had to be placed to suit new window sizes which the customer has decided I need to pay for! I did appoint someone to finish the bricklaying and apologised as the bricklayer let me down at the last minute and did promise to be back myself to finish the brickwork in preparation for the frames to be installed, however in the meantime we had snow and freezing temperatures and as I explained to her cement will not dry properly in such temperatures. May I also point out that I had been suffering with a quite serious lung infection which has put me off work for quite a few weeks, I have tried to reason with Rosaline, but she became adamant that she wanted her money back and unfortunately relations have now soured. I apologised that I have been unwell and that fitting has taken a lot longer than I anticipated but felt a little on the back foot as every time I spoke to her she insisted that I give her a refund which I cannot do as I have spent the money on materials and labour and I was left not knowing what to do as she wants me to come back one day and doesn't the next? I am not a big company I work for myself and occasionally have a labourer in with me that is all, and she insists that I employ someone else to finish the job which I cannot do as it has not been factored into the price given to her. Materials have been left on site against the next door neighbours boundary wall which is at least 20 feet away from the front door on the driveway. I can categorically guarantee that the job will be finished to a highly professional standard as soon as the issue with regards extra costs incurred due to Rosaline's change of design. Then I will be willing to take delivery of her new frame sizes which may I add, includes new glass sizes too. Rosaline has in my opinion been a little difficult from the start with no interaction with us while on site and no queries raised while we were there except the change in porch design. I am also a little disturbed by phone calls I have received which have been rather racist, disturbing and threatening, for which there is absolutely no need.
Glazing - Double / Single
Chris quoted for a double glazed bay window in need of refurbishment and completed the job expertly. A rare tradesman who goes above and beyond to ensure that his customers are left with a big smile on their faces. I have already lined him up for other jobs.
