James Doran showed up. He was very professional, until he got the job. - Although he told us he will get paid after the job is done, he started asking for money within the first 20 minutes after he started the work. - he didn't do exactly what we asked for, leaving an area of 1m² uncovered. He tried to find an excuse that it's impossible to do because it's near the manhole but I just arranged with someone else to do it for £100 while he was asking an extra £1000+ to do this. - his crew left a mess when they left. Packaging of McDonald's food, cans, and food all over the driveway. - he left a wall of broken concrete on the walkway aide over night, provoking nosy neighbours who complained - he left dirt, truck oil and diesel spilt from trucks on the pavement and claimed that he'll clean it when he'll do the drop kerb rwo months later. - my bins were full of broken bricks, broken concrete and doesel smelling sand. - when finished there was a very obvious cracked brick right in front of the entrance. I had to ask him to change it and it looks like whoever changed it was cutting bricks for the first time in his life. - neighbours complained that his crew was rude. - he claimed that his account was "broken" and asked me to pay on a different account with different name but same last name - he is ignoring me and won't bring me the receipt which I want to use to get some money back from a home improvement scheme we have at work. I lost about £1200 just because of this. - I have a suspicion that although in the contract he promised to install a weed barrier, he didn't. If weeds start showing up next year I'll sue him. All in all, if you value your hard earned money, and want to avoid buyers remorse, stay away and assign the job to someone else.
