It’s taken me a few months to write this review from November as i was generally unsure what to put and how to review, however its honest and transparent. Douglas and his brother took on our bathroom project where we supplied all the materials needed. Communication was always good, they stuck to the date for the project starting and cracked on. The project took slightly longer than initially quoted but that wasn’t an issue. We paid 1/3rd of the cost upfront with the remaining to be paid on completion. On the last working day without thinking i handed Douglas the last of the balance. I had noted to my partner that day that he seemed off in some form and couldn’t wait to get out quick enough. Once Douglas had left I noticed a good handful of issues. - Square taps were fitted squint on our squared off bath, so it was noticeable. - Basin unit doors hadn’t been aligned properly. - Extractor fan hadn’t been sealed off. - Gouges out of our wet wall where it looked as if someone had slipped whilst cutting. - Bath had been sealed whilst not full so when we filled it all the sealant lifted. - Bath panel had been botched not and visually didn’t look as it should and wasn’t secured. - Sealant above door on wet wall looked awful. - Window trim wasn’t aligned so gaps between sides. - (radiator wasn’t fixed to wall properly and has pulled away however this was noticed a few weeks after and never mentioned to Douglas) I addressed this with Douglas via email whom admitted straight away he had issues fitting the bath panel (why he wasn’t upfront and honest about it and left in a hurry I have no idea). He offered (and did) to reimburse for a new one and that he would use the old one as a template and refit. He also said that he would bring extra window trim and fix the taps. Douglas did sort these issues and also had a look in person at the other issues which he resolved, however due to the bath being set too high…the new bath panel still moves daily and has been damaged because of this. The gouges out of the wet wall were noted ( we have found a fair few more since this ) and Douglas explained practically the whole bathroom would have to come out for it to be resolved and replaced. Annoying as I still don’t understand how this gouges weren’t seen whilst fitting as they were right beside a part which required sealing. He came up with a solution to make amends which was to do our small W/C ( 1.5m2 ish, very small) using the leftover wet wall panel we had and flooring. We did however have to buy another wet wall panel as there wasn’t enough to half panel horizontally. This was a kind suggestion however I had other plans for the bathroom downstairs and when I aired this to Douglas I felt rather pushed and bullied into it so that so that he could make amends and felt very forced being asked a good few times ‘have you decided’. Due to all the skirting etc being old I had wanted to remove it all and replace. I also wanted to get a new sink, radiator etc. For ease I ended up just saying to go for it. Douglas provided a new toilet to his credit that he had from a job that never needed it. The w/c was half wet walled and trimmed, toilet replaced, flooring laid, spotlights fitted (again we had leftover) and cistern and sink pipes boxed in. A good job was done minus some snags with sealant I have had to fix and damage to wet wall where the old radiator has been squeezed up against, however Im not a fan of it at all and now when it comes to having to remove the old sink, old cistern, old skirtings and facers everything’s going to be damaged.

Douglas came & immediately did the work I wanted done. He did a great job & I was very pleased. I will be keeping Douglas's number for future work.
