Dear Homeowners, I urge you not use Anthony Manahan. He initially did a job for me (in response to an add I placed on the website), after completing the job he advised me to contact him directly for more work and not via the website as he will be charged. He was helpful and giving me lots of advice. He then offered to redo the bedroom doors in my house and said he could get me a good quote which I was happy for him to do. I contacted him later, as I was concerned of the strange noise from my radiator, he said he will come and check it. They were fine and did not needed to be held. He also re-took measurements of the doors. I asked if he wanted payment (which he did not) as he was returning over the weekend(on a Saturday) to do the doors but wanted payment for the materials. The following day he called me for payment, I asked for an invoice, he sent me a screen shot (only of the price) which was not the full amount he was quoting but said he still needed to get the hinges. I naively transferred the money to him. Come Saturday, he didn't arrive as promised and said he had an issue with another job and would come the next day. He told me the same thing the next day and wasted my whole weekend as he kept promising to complete the job. He agreed to come Monday evening. He didn't even bother calling or text me to say he is not coming. I agreed for him to come the following weekend and again, he let me down and said he will arrive at 2pm. No phone call and no show. I asked for money back which he offered to give me and then said his family member is unwell, I was even empathic. He said he would drop the materials off which again he didn't do. I chased for money to be refunded, said he will need to refund it back on his card before he can return the money to me. Promised to pay me on Friday morning. Friday at 2pm, I noticed the money was not in my account. I text him to say if he doesn't pay me back I will escalate things. He paid me £159 and deducted £50.The absolute cheek, he messed me around and wasted my time (for two weeks) to only then deduct £50 (which was supposed to be for the materials) without agreeing this beforehand. He later text to say he would return the £50 after work (when he previously said he had a bereavement and was not at work) but still didn't refund it to me. Please do not waste your time and money on this person. He is not honest and will just disappoint you.
