Good job redoing very old wallpapered ceilings with original cracked plaster underneath, removed and plastered
I had a rewire and Tony came and provided a quote, and I agreed. Tony is a pleasant gentleman, but I am not impressed with the finishing touches at all. All the plugs and light fittings were brand new and plug sockets and light fitting screws were removed to plaster behind them, but screws were not replaced and plaster around most sockets still have holes that I’ve had to go around after him to fill in all the holes he's left. also, the mess was unbelievable, not many plugs or light fittings are flush. All plaster all over the floors, doors, and fittings and skirting boards. Nothing was wiped or cleaned up after him. No dust sheet was used and mixed in the house and even when I asked for the plaster to be mixed outside as I’d started to paint, he still mixed in the house. The mess on my living room floor took me 4 hours to clean and wasn't impressed at all. Coving was also part of the quote in the living room and the product that was used to stick this on with is on the ceiling and I’ve painted over this 3 times and still it leaves a mark. Job took longer than advised which wasn’t too much of an issue. On the last day the skip had been picked up and instead of asking me if he could put the plaster in an old container to get rid of it was dumped on my garden. I did message Tony regarding this advising I wasn't too impressed with this, and I could have provided something for him to put this in and I received no reply, no sorry. The most upsetting thing for me is the mess he’s left behind him that’s created more work and then having to go around after him cleaning up. Nice gentleman but wouldn’t recommend to anyone unfortunately as too much work when he’s gone, and job isn’t to a good standard in places.
Job done quickly, highly satisfied with all work completed.
Anthony, the individual I hired for the Artex reapplication, might have overstated his capabilities. I had placed an adveAdvertisement seeking someone to restore a small section of crumbling Artex on my wall, ensuring that the pattern would match the existing design. Anthony provided me with a quote and assured me that he could replicate the original Artex pattern seamlessly. While I did receive other quotes, I ultimately decided to proceed with Anthony based on his confidence and assurances. Regrettably, the outcome was not as expected. Anthony claimed to have 30 years of experience in the trade. However, he failed to show up on the agreed appointment due to his car going for MOT. I had to call him the night before to find out he would not be coming. I disregarded this incident and he arrived on Monday, July 29th. I left him to do the work, and here are the results: 1. Anthony did not prepare the wall by removing the crumbled plaster. He got a Stanley knife and scraped parts of the wall. 2. He applied plaster rather than Artex, sArtex and wooden beams cover the entire room, and I believe tinting plaster would be a better option. He used a roller with elastic bands to imitate an Artex roller. He mixed plaster in my living room, where I had my 6-week-old baby's Moses basket out, creating a significant mess. Anthony left all the rubbish from the plastering on the floor and walls. He advised me to use my finger and water to remove it once it dried. While his work took two hours, it has taken me two days to clean up. He showed a complete disregard for my property, making a mess in every room, spilling things, and not cleaning up after himself. Anthony thought it was acceptable to dispose of his plastering waste in my neighbor's garden. After the plaster dried, I painted it, and unfortunately, it looks terrible and does not match the room. I have received additional quotes to fix Anthony's mistakes, which total over £500. Anthony applied plaster over Artex and used elastic bands on a roller to create some sort of Artex pattern. I naively trusted this individual. I have since contacted him again, requesting that he rectify the situation he caused. Anthony agreed to do so but failed to show up for the scheduled appointment. He is now ignoring my calls. I have asked that he either fix the issue he created or refund the money I paid him.. My room was beautiful with wooden beams all over and artex to compliment the ceiling and walls. Now I have plaster, with some lines.
Anthony skimmed six walls to new plasterboard in my house. He's done a professional job and I'm very satisfied with his work. I would certainly recommend him.
Couldn't be happier with the work that Anthony carried out. I was contacted by him on Thursday and after receiving a very fair quote by Friday lunch time the work was complete and looks spot on. He arrived on time, was quick and professional and clearly very good at what he does. I would highly recommend him to anyone and would 100% use him again if I needed more work doing.
Ant was efficient, punctual and very good at what he does. Prices were more than reasonable for the work he carried out, having recieved other quotes for the same job Ants work, prices and time keep were impeccable. Highly recommended!
