Install Under Stairs Toilet
We received two quotes for the installation of a downstairs toilet. Both quotes were for the same price and time scale. We chose the quote that wanted no money required until the job was finished. A short time into the job, we were asked for money, or the job would not be continued. The contractor had various personal problems, so we tried to help the best we could. We paid additional amounts to him as we went along as well as paying some costs ourselves. We stopped the contractor from painting and filling as we considered his work to be substandard. We did not, however, pay him any less than the price he quoted. The job was due to be completed in July 2024. By the end of August 2024. The contractor wanted to start another contract with someone else. We agreed that he could return to us in 3 weeks time. We contacted him in December 2024. He agreed to return to finish the job. By the end of January 2025 he had still not returned. In February 2025 , we had to pay someone else to finish the job, even though we had paid Ashton & Cole , in full (a big mistake on our part). The contractor has not replied to any of our messages (5) since 6 February. He has refused to refund the cost we incurred to finish the job. Very disappointed. We would not recommend him to anyone else.

Ashton & Cole building/electrical servicesThese customers were very very abusive towards me and my staff half way on this job. Kept asking for more work for same quote was never happy with anything and I ended up doing the job on my own as my 2 employees was not tolerating them any more. The job took a lot longer in the end obviously and was not happy with the time scale. I left the job in the end as I was not going to keep taking abuse. Did not like dust, tools, noise. Every trade they have had work on their property has always been issues with them with other trades trying yo claim money back. I received a phone call after 2 weeks with apologies and was told I will be left to get on with the job so I agreed to continue. I made no money on the job in the end as I felt I needed to finish the job for them. I admit there was a bit of bad work done on my part for painting/filling but I would usually have my decorators do this for me but as my guys refused to work for these people. And I also admit there was a bit of bad boxing in for pipe work above the boiler but I was rushing to get the job complete as it was dragging out and they wanted the job complete and I offered to pay some money back many times but they said (no please don't worry about it we just want the job complete now). Never had any issues like this before iv been doing this job for many years now and this is the first.
