Alberto was a very courteous and trustworthy person, he did my job to an excellent standard, I would use him again, and would recommend him anytime
I hired Alberto (Jose) to paint and wallpaper the hallway of my home. He was provided with detailed information on-site, conducting a review of the work and provided a quote of 15 days and £2,400 to complete the work which was agreed in writing. His quote one of 5. After about a week, he informed me that he underestimated the work and would not be able to complete it in time. I agreed to remove a significant part of the job (renew my stairs) and pay him for the whole job. It was at this stage that he informed me that he did not know how to hang lining paper!!! I agreed to spend a day with Alberto and show him how to hang lining paper, but it was clearly something he was not going to be able to do, so instead I ended up completing the task on my own. On 12 paid days, I received a WhatsApp message late in the evening, from Alberto informing me that he wanted extra time and money to complete the ‘now reduced’ tasks. I felt that sending a WhatsApp was quite impersonal and asked him to discuss it with me in the morning. I shared my concern that I had already reduced the work, and he was working slower than I expected, citing issues with his vacuum cleaner and wallpaper steamer not working. Despite this I provide him with my own equipment to complete the job. His response was not to consider my concerns but to shout at me and tell me that he is taking his equipment because he can get work elsewhere. The delays and incomplete work for what was now going on 4 weeks has been an major inconvenience, resulting in having to cancel personal arrangements at my home. I have now undertaken to have the work completed by another decorator. It became clear Alberto did not properly assess ‘his ability’ to complete the work, his cost was not the cheapest and was the longest duration. As a customer, I expected a professional decorator would have the expertise to estimate a job correctly before starting and as a minimum be able to undertake basic tasks such as hanging lining wallpaper!!! Whilst I appreciate delays can occur, these are not the customer's responsibility and should have been factored in initially. It seemed as though he had no concept of the impact the delays were having in time and cost in completing the work and simply assumed he could treat the work like a hobby with the customer just paying out despite however long he took. In summary, Alberto demonstrated a lack of skill to accurately quote and complete the work in a professional and timely manner. I cannot, with good conscience, recommend him for your decorating projects.
Alberto painted our staircase. It was a difficult job but he did an excellent job. Very happy with the results and can definitely recommend him.
Alberto painted our kitchen cupboards. He was professional, very tidy and kind. He took a great deal of pride in his work and did an excellent job. He completed the job exactly when he said he would and was very careful about all the details that I specified. We will absolutely hire him again!
