How do we replace laminate flooring?

We had a click together vinyl plank floor installed a few years ago but our dog has damaged one of the planks. We do have some leftover planks but we're not sure how to remove and replace it as we didn't install it. Is it easy to do or should we ask for help?

    Staircase without newel posts

I’d like to fit a staircase between a solid wall and a half-wall that I plan to build. The half-wall would include built-in storage under the stairs. I don’t want to use newel posts as I would prefer the half-wall to be as slim as possible to save space. Before I reach out for quotes, I’d like to find out if this idea is feasible. Specifically: • Can the staircase be structurally supported by a solid wall and a half-wall without newel posts? • What kind of reinforcements would the half-wall need to support the staircase and storage? • Are there any building regulations I should be aware of for this type of design? I’d love to hear from anyone with experience on similar projects. Many thanks in advance!

Design features to make a kitchen less boxy

We have a very square space for our kitchen. We think fitting units around 3 walls again will make it look too boring and boxy. What sort of kitchen design features would you suggest to make it more interesting?

    neighbours roofing

My neighbour has erected scaffolding which is hanging over my property and they did not have the decency to inform us about their roofing works. Is this acceptable? It is a semi detached property so are they allowed to interfere with my roof tiles without my permission?

    Insulate a party wall

How best can a loft party wall be insulated? I’ve got a loft conversion and my neighbour doesn’t and in the winter the party wall in the loft gets a lot of condensation on it which result in mould growth so how best can I insulate the wall and eliminate mould growth and how thick should the insulation be. All advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Levelling subfloor in upstairs bedroom

Hi guys, first time posting here. I'm having a bedroom in a council rented house completely gutted and the subfloor is in very bad state. Damaged and very dirty, I can see noticeable dips in the floor, it's nothing crazy bad but certainly wouldn't be suitable for a hardwood floor to go on top of my naive brain would think. I'm wondering how much or how I'd even go about getting it fixed? Would the whole subfloor need replaced? I've always had wonky floors in my house and I'm sick of it, since this room is gutted I want it done proper from the get go so I'm not rolling about the room like I'm on a rollercoaster. Since it's so dirty I thought just replacing the whole floor might be worth doing instead of cleaning it and then getting it *fixed* but I've no idea what that really entails. Any suggestions welcome.
