    How to clean flint

Having our old cottage re-tendered, hacked it off already and there is a 18”- 2’ bit at the bottom which are flint stones. Love the look and would like to try to keep them exposed to show the character. however obviously a lot of cement on many of them and just wondered if there was something we could use to dissolve the residue or in some place, remove chunks of cement to clean them up ? Any suggestions please?!!!

    ESI Thermostat Replacement

I have recently moved into a new build and was looking at replacing the thermostats with smart ones to control the heating from my phone. I have 2 heating zones with a wall mounted ESI ESRTP6C thermostat in each zone. While looking at thermostats I noticed that ESI have a smart version of the same unit I already have, so I was wondering if it would be possible to swap the thermostats out? The only difference I've noticed is that it look like its made of 2 parts, the thermostat and a receiver unit. I had a look around my boiler and couldn't find a receiver unit for my current thermostats. The only thing I have is a white box which I think is just a power supply and controller for the zone pumps? I'm unsure if my thermostat setup is compatible with ESIs smart thermostats, or any thermostats for that matter? I wanted to make sure it was feasible before buying the thermostats. Also does anyone have any experience with ESI smart thermostats and are they worth it over the Hive thermostat?

What would be the total cost of totally replacing a bath waste trap that’s clogged with grime/glitter/bathbomb materials? Job about an hour and no bath border sealing afterwards. Thank you in advance!

Are councils responsible for cleaning roadwork mess?

There’s work going on just behind my house but its causing plenty of dirt, sediment etc. to gather on the road. Can I have the council ensure that something is done about it, such as the builders cleaning up the mess, etc.? It is quite a nuisance and doesn’t make the street look particularly good. And I’m not the only one, a few other neighbours aren't happy either. It’s not the biggest deal in the world but we’d prefer if there wasn’t that much of a mess on the road.

    Installing solar tiles

How long does it take to install solar tiles? Are they affordable? Can I install them by myself and if so when I purchase them from? If not, how long might it take to have a roofer install these tiles on my roof? Also, how do solar tiles connect to my house’s energy system?

Can any concrete floors be polished?

If I were to have any concrete floor installed, would it be okay to polish it or should this be avoided? How can I find out if it depends on the floor in question (i.e. specific floor product)?
