    Getting qualified

Hi I'm in my mid twenties years old and would love to start a career in Plumbing. What is the best way to getting qualified? I was told that City of Guilds is one of the best options for getting a qualification. Is this true? Whether it is or not, I would really appreciate some more information on this matter. The sooner I can start the better. Thanks in advance

Should I use Concrete or Paving Slabs in my garden?

Hello all, We are looking to have a patio-esque area in our garden by using slabs. We don’t know if we are best to use paving on these areas as they are or whether we should have a cement layer applied for the area. If anyone has any recommendation or experience with this type of thing, please let us know. Thanks!

How do I start planning for a single storey extension?

Hi all, How do I go about starting the planning process for a single storey extension on my home? I want to have a small extension built to the side of the existing building, to be used an additional utility room. Shall I get quotes before having plans made or have the plans made first? Are architects able to advise me on the plans themselves? And what would be an approximate cost for an architect to produce the plans for the extension? Will I need planning permission for this extension? It will be entirely within my property boundaries. Additionally, please let me know if you have any ideas of how long this could take, how long to have quotes/plans made or any other advice for building an extension like this.

Mould problem in bedroom, can I just use Dulux easycare or should I be using Dulux bathroom?

Hello, I am currently redecorating my room. There has been a persistent mould problem which has been looked at. We are planning on installing a ventilation system. Mould occurs on the exterior walls particularly around the window. I know I want to use Dulux. My plan was to use the bathroom paint, but I am wondering if the Easycare washable paint will suffice? There is little price difference between them so I was wondering what is the most suitable for a bedroom like mine? The only downside for the bathroom paint for me is that they don't come in a matt formula this however is not the end of the world! Any advice much appreciated! Thanks!
