Wired vs wireless alarm

How can I tell if a wired or wireless alarm would be the best choice for me?

"Wired if the cables are being hidden and securely fitted. Wireless if you have a good internet supplier to avoid any connection issues."

"If you have laminate flooring or a nicely decorated house then go for wireless the labour would be cheaper and install quicker. If your renovating the go for the wired option as you won't need to replace batteries every 4 years"

"Depends what it’s for. If it’s residential and retrofit then wireless is completely fine. If it’s commercial then most times insurance require grade 3 which is wired."

"Good Afternoon,

Wireless is better on an install level with no need for cabling runs and less labour time. But is slightly more expensive. But when you weigh it out on hard-wired takes more time to install so the cost of labour goes up . Although the Hardwired is cheaper than wireless. Wireless is great for less damage to the décor of your property . Another reason it makes it a popular choice.
We install a lot of wireless fire alarms currently it is becoming the system of choice in the schools and hotels that we install in.
Any company if you ask will do you a quote for hard-wired or wireless so you can compare in price and labour time.
Please ask your installer of choice what is the lead time on the hardware. As some of the wireless systems are having issues with lead times due to a lot of the components being made in Kyiv and obviously because of the current situation it is having a knock-on effect.

I hope that assists you in your choice a little.

Kind Regards

"Hi Kamil.

It depends on the property, is it Commercial or Residential?

I would personally say, if you’re in a position where you are renovating, then why not run the cables and have a wired system?

If your home is complete, it may be best for a wireless system. Both are just as good as the other.

If it’s a large commercial site, i’d say wired all the way.

"Replacing batteries on a wireless alarm, as when

batteries are low in charge images aren't clear as

opposed to preferable fixed hardwired alarm images

crystal clear 24/7 365 days."
