"Yes of course you just need to ensure the widened part is fixed to existing normally with some re-bar to strengthen it stop it braking away
its a very common practice we’ve conducted many time in the past

"Yes luke it is completely possible in the case of widening a concrete drive you have to clean to the edge of the old drive and it’s basically the same as having a new drive but you use the old drive as a edge rather than installing one before hand"
