Wi-Fi-enabled security alarms

Question

Just how secure are Wi-Fi-enabled security alarms? I am considering having one fitted at my home but I am not sure how prone these sorts of alarms are to being hacked.

Hi Greg,

We use wireless intruder alarms all the time. Our new systems have incorporated frequency hopper technology which if attempted to jam or interfere, will jump to a different frequency. It’s technology, is as good or better than wired. Just make sure you get a decent system if wireless.

I've fitted a fair few and from experience never had any customers having any issues, the only thing that may go wrong is wifi dropping out but you're alarm will still sound, you just won't receive notifications, with regards hacking the system will generally encrypt every time the system is set/unset

There are many different WiFi alarms and vary in quality, longevity and security from hacking. It’s important you ask a reputable specialist for recommendations. 
Various alarm systems will provide security protocols and awards presented for their design and software protection.

WiFi alarms are really good they are very rarely getting hacked, I have never heard of them being hacked.
