What's mortared stonework?

Is mortared stonework just stone walls that are bonded with mortar?

"Yes theres a lot too know about lime mortar and how to correctly mix it consistently as it’s like baking in many ways, as it can be overly mixed, some specially skilled masons don’t even know how to correctly use the product as there main skill is dressing and shaping stone to exact requirements and I’ve worked with many masons who have been exceptionally skilled with hand tools ,then when it came to them repointing I’ve been amazed at how little care they had in that sort of work,

I use to work at a production place in Cowdenbeath, fife that are producing the best lime possibly in Scotland and England, and could also maybe help you with any other questions you might have they also do courses that anyone can apply,

"Yes correct some people use semi dry to build stone."

"two types of walling, wet or dry.
wet being mortared { limestone or cement based mixed with sand]
dry being placed on top of each other with locking stones .

"Mortared stonewalling or stonework is a stone that has Mortared bedding joints and perpendicular joints, where as dry walling does not have mortar"

"Yes absolutely correct. Each stone is laying on a bed of Mortar and between each end of the stone as well….
