What size armoured cable to shed

I was thinking of supplying electricity to light up the shed that will obviously require a switch , two double sockets to use a small electric convector heater or plug in an electric drill or saw and a radio. What size armoured cable will I need and all the other components to get this done. I am having a kitchen extension so that would be the perfect time as the cable can be fitted whilst accessibility will be easy.

"2.5 mm cable fused at 20 amps would cover what you list. Best if it is wired direct from your fuse
Board. You should have a two way fuse board IN the shed 6 amp way for a light and a 16 amp way for the sockets. There should also be 30 mA RCD in the shed plus an earth rod to provide earthing protection for the shed. The shed earthing should not be linked to the house earthing

"Hi Mustafa,
I suggest using a 4mm or 6mm SWA connected to a small 4 way Consumer Unit. From there you can get 1 circuit for sockets and 1 for lights, leaving space for future expansion. 4mm SWA can take around 40A and 6mm can take around 50A. Using a 6mm can give you the benefit of addidnt something like a hot tub or similar in the future without disturbing the house electrics anymore"

"6mm2 csa likely .A garage type CU.4circuits.The heater would need to be its own circuit and the sockets would be ok on aradial circuit with 2.5 mm2 conductors subject to knowing the distribution circuit length.The SWA cable could run clipped on the surface or buried or across a catenary wire."

"You need a 4mm 3 Core SWA or 6mm 3 Core SWA. Depending on the distance. The Components needed will be a 20mm SWA Gland, Clips, a small Sub board for the shed with a 6A RCBO and a 20A RCBO. You will need a 32A MCB for main FuseBoard"

Length from the point in the house where the supply will be taken ( ideally your consumer unit) to the shed.
Kw of the heater would help also.

"For powering your shed with a heater, power tools, and lighting, you’ll need:

6mm² or 10mm² SWA cable (depending on distance).
Garage consumer unit with RCD protection.
16A MCB for sockets, 6A MCB for lighting.
Two double sockets, a light switch, and an LED light fitting.
Proper earthing & cable protection (buried 450mm if underground).
Since you’re having a kitchen extension, now is the perfect time to install the cable. A qualified electrician is required to ensure compliance with UK regulations."
