Wall panelling tradesperson

I want the bottom section of my hall, stairs and landing panelling with MDF but unsure what’s tradesperson does it - painter/decorator, joiner etc?

Some painters and decorators are more than capable, but they may not have the machines and tools required for this discipline 
As a carpenter, panelling is a relatively straightforward job and using MDF will reduce material cost, instead of using real timber.

The correct tradesmen to use for installing MDF panelling is a joiner as they have the measuring and cutting skills. However, there are many multi-trades around who are professional at many combined trade skills

Try and aim for a carpenter who also is a joiner or a kitchen fitter, or who builds wardrobes because you are aiming for a tight finish with minimum filling !!!

For that you would be best getting a joiner to supply and fit the panelling but getting a painter to paint it

It will need to be dressed and painted. So you will need a Painter/decorator
