"I did a small job for a customer who ask me to use old guttering. I drilled holes for drainage and tan it in lengths. All the way up a wall fixed with gutter brackets. . They had various herbs and cascading plants , a few different sized hanging baskets and outdoor lighting .I painted the brick work first, all in all very cheap to do and looked great in the end"

"Depending on your situation you could try several things. You could take the frame of the vertical garden, I imagine you are using either composite or wood structures. Direct fix using brackets in to your wall. Use direct fixings and brackets to fix directly to your wall. Or depending on the weight of the frame, use posts to add strength to the structure. Whether these are fixed directly to your wall, perhaps at the back where they would remain hidden or placed and concreted in the ground, again behind the wall. You could actually direct fix them also in to the wall. But it would add some strength to the overall finish. If you could gravity feed water in via a rain collection bucket/water butt, you could potentially have a very energy efficient system."

"You could use Sleeper borders it would be ideal for this.
Or breeze blocks to save money but the sleepers will look more appealing"
