Vented soffit as a facia

Question

My roofer has installed vented soffit as a facia board .
Is this acceptable?

No this is not advisable. The risk you run is water can come through the vent...!!

This is not acceptable and shows a rookie error. It will create a hole for rain to drip through causing a leak.

Well to be fair you answered the question yourself when you said the roofer installed vented soffit as fascia. Soffit is soffit and fascia is fascia so the answer is no.
