Unblocking toilet

My toilet seems to be blocked, when I flush it the water comes all the way up the bowl and takes at least 5-10 minutes to go down, however today it has taken longer to go down and wont flush properly, is there any cheap/easy way to do this myself? either with a plunger or toilet unblocking liquid?

"A plunger can often work however there are toilet specific plungers which work best for this, the alternative is the main drains are blocked so you would need to check foe man holes outside, get some drain rods and unblock, I hope this helps!"

"There is no easy way, but you can try asking someone to cover the drains for all near by sinks and baths. Then plunge the blocked toilet."

"Hi. A toilet plunger should solve your issue.
If you need to purchase one I got a monument toilet plunger which you can purchase from Screwfix"

"Do you use the 'over the rim' toilet blocks? This may have been knocked in and flushed. It will need to be removed if so.
It would probably be cheaper to get a professional in as there could be many reasons for the blockage."

"You can try to unblock it with a pan plunger yes. A few good downward pumps and see if it clears."

"A clogged toilet can be frustrating, but before you panic, there are some relatively cheap and easy DIY methods you can try to unclog it yourself! Here are a few options, starting with the simplest:

1. Plunger Power:

This is the classic and often effective solution. Grab a good flange plunger (the kind with a cup that seals around the toilet hole) and plunge vigorously for a minute or two. If the blockage is mild, this might be enough to break it up and send it down the drain.
Hot water trick: If plunging alone doesn't work, try pouring a pot of hot water (not boiling!) into the bowl after plunging. The heat can help loosen any buildup.
2. DIY Unblocking Liquid:

If the hot water and plunger combo doesn't work, you can try a homemade unblocking solution. Mix 1/2 cup baking soda with 1/2 cup hot vinegar in the bowl. The fizzing reaction can help break up the clog. Leave it for 30 minutes to an hour before flushing.
Dish soap alternative: If you don't have baking soda and vinegar, try pouring a generous amount of dish soap into the bowl and let it sit for 30 minutes. The soap can help lubricate the blockage and allow it to slide down the drain.
3. Plunger and Liquid Combo:

Sometimes, combining plunging with a liquid unblocking agent can be even more effective. Use the plunger after adding the liquid to push the loosened clog down the drain.
Important Tips:

Avoid harsh chemicals: Steer clear of harsh chemical drain cleaners as they can damage your pipes and create even bigger problems.
Patience is key: Don't give up after one attempt. Sometimes, it takes a few tries and some patience to loosen and flush the clog.
Know your limits: If none of these methods work after several attempts, or if you suspect a deeper issue like a sewer line blockage, it's best to call a professional plumber to avoid causing further damage.
Remember, these are just DIY methods, and it's always best to err on the side of caution if you're unsure about tackling the clog yourself.

I hope this helps! Good luck with unclogging your toilet!"

"Seems like you've got a blockage somewhere down the line in your property. You could use One Shot Drain Cleaner 1LTR but theres a method to it. No gaurantee it'll work as this sounds like a full on drainage job, someone needs to come and jet down your waste pipe to clear whatever is causing the blockage."

"there may be a traffic jam and it may be nearby, it may still be outside, it is best to sleep with a special rope at the beginning, it won't help, then you need to look more seriously and you won't get around without a specialist. no liquids will help much unless you pour 10-20 liters"
