Types of dehumidifers for rooms

Are there different dehumidifers that are designed for use in different rooms? I.e. one for a living room vs one for a basement, etc.?

There is different sizes but ultimately All dehumidifiers do same job . Best thing to do is hire them as there not the cheapest to purchase.
