Two front doors

Question

My house has two separate front doors, several metres apart. Can I add a small separate porch to each of them without planning permission? Or does the exception apply to just one door?

The best option is to contact your local council Building Control office. They are very helpful and will give you the correct answer

You should be able to do that but is always best to speak to Building control at your local council and ask the question as things are changing all the time

Yes Mervin yes if you stay within the guidelines of 3m square which is a permitted build

Hi,

To be considered within permitted development rights, the height of a porch must not exceed three meters above ground level. If the highest part of the porch is over three meters in height from ground level, planning permission is required.

There’s only the 3m from the house rule that would apply
