TWO CRACKS APPEARING ON INTERNAL WALL IN HALLWAYWALL

DOES THIS MEAN THE WALL NEEDS UNDERPINNING. THERE ARE TWO CRACKS RUNNING DOWN FROM THE CEILING ABOUT 16 INCHES LONG EITHER SIDE OF BEDROOM DOOR.

"Is this a new build or an older property. If its a new build it would most probably be just settling which happens. If not it could be a slight subsidence or moister behind the plaster that's causing the cracking. With the heavy rain it could be moisture if its an external wall it could be blow mortar which would need repointing. 0.7.5.2.7.6.5.0.1.5.5"

"Hi , if your living in a recently built house this may be due to the house settling , if it’s a older house and cracks have recently appeared it could be a sign of subsidence , a site visit and inspection would be needed to give a full diagnosis"

"Completely agree with the answers already provided. If the cracks run diagonally from the ceiling to the top corners of the door and is visible on either side of the hallway and bedroom then subsidence may be the issue. A site visit would certainly be required. Hopefully all that’s required is some chemical stitching of the brickwork which involves removing the plaster/render back to bare brick, grind out the mortar beds 250-300mm either side of the crack (so 500-600mm total, and install steel heli bars secured with epoxy-resin…… repoint over the top then re-plaster etc. hope you get sorted."

"I would advise getting a structural survey carried out asap, this could be to subsidence or issues with walls higher up. I would check if works have been carried out on either side of your property if it is adjoining."
