"For both aesthetic benefits and a good price point, I would recommend an angular stone such as limestone or granite. This allows you to choose from various options to suit your taste whilst also avoiding the problem that comes with gravel which is the inevitable large ruts, sinking and an uneven surface. The angular shape of the stone helps it to bind well and will ensure minimal maintenance. These are also very hard wearing products which can still look great in the many years to come. Whilst loose stone driveways aren’t for everyone, if you are going to go for one, these will be your best options without spending an arm and a leg."

"Hi Sandra,

You have a few options. The first is resin bound surface. This is 3-5mm gravel that is mixed together and then trowelled in place, either on a graded screed or a compacted Type 1 sub base. The second is a sett or driveway brick that is set in compacted sharp sand. The third option is a gravel grid system which involves a plastic grid system over a membrane which is then filled with 14mm gravel. Options 1 and 2 are about the same price and option 3 is the most cost effective option."

"Hi there i have come across your question and i would like to help
If you have grass already down and from my understanding you want a complte hardcore drive the best thing to do is to grade all of the excess material up and away, by then topping it with a membrane and a type 1 10mm material and then gravel this is a cheaper way to do things and will last you a life time with no water gathering or the drive sinking
hope this as helped"

"Resin is the new look but costly out the most block paving would be the second but I have seen a lot of tarmac drives with a nice block paved boarder"

"There is a few options depending on budget
1. Been a resin driveway with a permeable base underneath ie tarmac or concrete must be permeable

2. Gravel driveway with a block edge to help
retain the gravel and use the ego gravel grids

3. Block paving you can use the permeable blocks which are good for areas which are bad at draining"
