"Yes indeed, much better finish. If the unit was ever removed the wall behind would be complete."

"Apologies for so late response ..
The walls to be covered with tiles everywhere. After tiling works, any units, appliances to be installed. Unless a customer asks not to ..
Bear in mind you may change location of the vanity later ..
Regards"

"No, companies do not generally tile behind anything which will be fixed to or mounted on a surface. It may be that a surface is already tiled and they would perhaps fix it to the tiles but I would argue along with many tradesman that this is not a good practise because once the tile fails then the vanity unit would essentially no long be fixed to the surface any longer. Ideally you would want any unit to be fixed to a solid surface like a brick wall or into the joists of a stud wall ect"

"it's ok as long as silicone is used properly .it is better if a waterproof insulation is used before fixing the tiles"

"I personally would always tile behind a wall hung vanity unit as you get a better finish from unit to tile."
