Thermostat valve

The thermostat valve on the radiator has snapped off, how much will it cost to put a new one on, and is it okay to have the heating on

"Hi there
Is it the full valve snapped or just the top plastic adjuster bit? If it’s not leaking then you can have heating on but if it’s dripping then please don’t. Also check the boiler pressure before putting heating on.
Thankyou"

"Perfectly okay to continue using the heating. We charge £90 plus VAT to replace the valve."

"Hi .
If it's only the thermostat head that has broken.
The valve will need replacing.

Unless it a good brand it may be possible to change the head but you will need to buy valve as a complete part"

"Heating will be ok. Providing no leak. This may impact on the functionality of the radiator. The price will be around 60 pounds including the part. If no drain down of system. Best wishes"

"No it's not ok to put a heating on as it could leak if it's snaped.

Prices vary from £80-£120 depends on the pipe location"

"Hi , when you say the valve has snapped off is it leaking? If it’s just the head that’s snapped it will be fine to carry on using.
Generally a new valve + fitting is around £80 that included draining the system changing the valves topping back up and adding inhibitor then testing

Thanks
Dave"

"Hi There,
No problem leaving the heating on providing its not leaking, you may be able to screw on a new valve head"

"You can still leave the heating on, just that you may not be able to regulate that particular radiator. It you get the same radiator thermostat valve, you can replace it with £30.00 labour cost. If you get a totally different thermostatic valve. It can cost up to £110 labour cost."

"This can be done easily without turning off the radiator unscrew and replacing it"

"Hello

Assuming there is no water coming from the radiator head then yes it should be ok to use your heating. most thermostatic radiator valves heads can be replaced without taking the full valve off which itself will save time and cost.

A head change would cost around £50 depending on location. A full valve change would be around the £100 mark depending on pipework and accessibility."
