Thermal paint for stone walls

Does coating stone walls in thermal paint actually work? Will it make my home drier and warmer or is this a gimmick?

"Coatings applied to natural sandstone would need to be a breathable product allowing the stone to breath, otherwise you are leaving yourself subject to damp."

"Stone needs to be able to breathe if you apply thw wrong paint to something like limestone it stops the wall brething and will cause damp problems."

"I believe there are special paints for doing that however I've never used them . Always speak to the companies selling these paints and research them before making your decision.
Kind regards
