"Strip foundations are a traditional method of construction. They are usually 600mm wide to allow brick and block construction with an allowance for Cavity wall insulation
Strip foundations would be a minimum of 1000mm deep depending on soil conditions"

"A strip foundation is a type of shallow foundation that consists of a long and narrow footing that supports a load-bearing wall. It is typically used for small to medium-sized structures that have relatively low loads. Strip foundations distribute the weight of the wall over a large area of soil, reducing the pressure on the underlying soil and ensuring that the structure is stable.

Types of Strip Foundations

There are several types of strip foundations that engineers can use depending on the site conditions, the structure's weight, and the soil type. Some common types of strip foundations include:

Trench Fill Foundations: Trench fill foundations are continuous concrete strips that fill the entire trench excavation. They are typically used in areas where the soil is stable and can support the weight of the structure.

Stepped Foundations: Stepped foundations are similar to trench fill foundations, but they have steps or levels that follow the contours of the ground. The steps reduce the amount of excavation required and make the foundation more suitable for sloping sites.

Pad Foundations: Pad foundations are square or rectangular footings that support columns or piers. They are typically used for small structures that have relatively low loads.

we hope this helps
