Steel beam for loft conversion

I’m in the process of getting a loft conversion and the structural engineer has sent me the drawings and the steel beam size that he has proposed to be used is 203 x 203 x 46 kg/m UB. Is this a common size or not, cause I’ve looked online for a steel beam of this size and I’m being told this size comes as a column not a beam. Just want some clarification on this.

"Hi,
Good evening. The S.E will have calculated the span plus the load it takes plus as previously answered the point load. I.e if it is in the middle of the loft supporting the loft floor both ways plus stairs and also then the ridge and roof/roofs. It can be universal beam or column depending on what they calculate for. Best of luck.

Thank you
Kind regards Shane"

"it all deppends on the span of your property, the engineer they do their calculation and you should have them and the builder should follow that otherwise everything will go wrong"

"Hello ,
The UB sent by the structural engineer 202x203x46kb/M can be used either UB or UC. It has been required to be used UB due to the span

"That size is quite large but is depends the span will be installing over.
If the steel like that will be installing under side the ridge board and will be working as supporting of ridge beam and span is around 6-7 metres that will be wright size. For any other idea of installation I have to have drawing calculations to get clear answers."
