How much am I looking at to get a smart thermostat installed, I know the cost of the thermostat is around 120,  but how much roughly on top of that for it to be installed

Install new smart thermostat supplied by customer 
Test on completion £189+vat

A smart thermostat is a great idea depending on what your intended gain from it is and also the type of home you have. Installer cost will vary depending on brand, system, accessibility etc so a site visit is your best option for an estimate or quote.

Approx £120 labour for a standard smart thermostat, in terms of the thermostat you choose the options are varied, if your boiler is fairly new it may be opentherm compatible, opentherm smart thermostats cost a little more, but save money on fuel as they are a weather compensation thermostat and actually control the heat of your gas boiler in relation to the changing temperature throughout the year. In terms od setting up an open therm stat, this takes a little longer to get the weather curve dialled in correctly so may increase labour time marginally aswell, or require a second visit to establish the correct settings.
