"Hi, that mean if there is a gap that mean you blaster board would have become very, very wet and become crowded. Or you had some movement in between. I hope that answer your questions."

"Do you need a quotation to fix the leak? There shouldn’t be a gap?"

"Hi,
There shouldn't be any kind of gap between the shower base and the wall. I would suggest that at the very least it would need re siliconing. My advice would be to contact a bathroom specialist or a tradedperson with experience of fitting shower bases with in your area to take a look and investigate further."

"of course there should be no gap between the shower tray and the wall, but if there is one, it must be filled with silicone"

"Tanking is a protective layer to prevent water ingress. If a tray is being installed there will not be a continuous protective later unless you tank the walls and continue under the floor before putting in the tray. It's all about cost and the ability of the installer"

"Sounds as though it hasn't been silicone sealed around base and wall ,I would look for a professional sealant fitter to rectify."

"Id say that if you have any kind of space between the tray and wall mate your likely getting the spray and excess water coming through it or dripping down! Its definitely not supposed to be there (the gap) and may need further investigation into as you might have issues possibly with water damage now also!? I would suggest that you may want someone to come and have a look just to be sure and most importantly get it siliconed up at least! Obviously if I can help out give me a shout! Happy to help out if its needed?! ATB"
