Shower always hot or no cold pressure

Hi There, i have currently have two showers and recently the one upstairs has stopped providing cold water and is luke warm or goes really hot but when i turn it to cold it stops providing water pressure

(could this be related to the Thermostatic mixing valve?)

The 2nd issue when i use the downstairs shower it is really hot and stays hot the same tempature no mater which way i turn it hot or cold?
any idea what the issue can be?

Please note i have a baxi boiler and a have a main indirect cyclinder 250 litre.

"If you have no issues of hot water on taps, then the problem will be on the showers blending valves"

"Possible reasons your shower might always be hot or cold:

Faulty mixing valve:

This is the most common culprit, where the internal mechanism responsible for mixing hot and cold water is malfunctioning.

Blocked shower head or filters:

Debris buildup in the shower head or inlet filters can restrict water flow and affect temperature control.

Low hot water supply:

If your water heater isn't producing enough hot water, your shower might always lean towards the cold side, especially if multiple people are using hot water at once.

Damaged or worn-out parts:

Over time, the seals and components within the shower valve can wear down, causing temperature inconsistencies.

Improperly set hot water heater temperature:

Check your water heater settings to ensure the temperature is set to a suitable level."

"It definitely sounds like a thermostat cartridge problem to me"

"Yeah think you’re right if you have bar mixer showers it may be that they need replacing. There may also be a leak on your cold water feed but assuming it’s only the showers that aren’t going cold ie mixing I would go with the first."

"Sounds like the thermostat mixer in your shower needs cleaning/changing."

"I would agree with your mixing valve being at fault here if it only at the shower and not other hot water appliances"

"This sounds like thermostatic mixer has failed but depending on how it is piped it could be an imbalance in pressure between the hot and cold supply."

"Hi
you are not getting enough pressure, you may need to increase the pipe size or add a pump."
