"They are normally bonded in or nailed.screwed in place if on top of a wooden floor or concrete threshold. If you aren't going to relay them cut them in half with a saw and just lever them up with a pry bar, each side of the cut, that way they come away from the door frame with minimal disturbance."

"Yes, removing wooden saddles (door thresholds) is relatively straightforward and can be done as part of your laminate flooring installation. The process typically involves gently prying the saddles up using a crowbar or similar tool after carefully loosening them to avoid damage to the surrounding areas. Once removed, the surface can be smoothed and prepared for the new flooring and underlay. It’s important to ensure a flush transition between rooms for a seamless finish."

"Removing wooden saddles (thresholds) on door entrances is generally a straightforward task, but the ease of removal depends on how they were installed. Here's a general approach:

Inspect the Saddles: Look for any nails, screws, or adhesive holding the saddles in place. Some might be nailed or screwed into the door frame, while others might have been glued.

Use a Pry Bar: If the saddles are nailed, you can use a pry bar or crowbar to gently lift them away from the frame. Place a thin piece of wood under the pry bar to protect the floor and minimize damage to the surrounding area.

Unscrew or Remove Nails: If screws are holding the saddle, simply remove them with a screwdriver. If there are nails, you can try using a hammer or nail puller to remove them.

Clean Up: Once the saddle is removed, you may need to patch up any small holes or marks in the frame or floor before installing the laminate.

Consider Professional Help: If you're unsure or if the saddles are particularly stubborn, you may want to consult a professional to avoid damaging the door frames or floor.

Removing the saddles shouldn't affect your ability to install a laminate floor with underfelt as long as you do it carefully. Once removed, you'll have a smoother transition for your flooring installation."
