Removing a wired burglar alarm

Will taking an old, wired burglar alarm out make a lot of mess? Or is it a better option to keep the wiring and change the alarms and sensors?

"Removing the old alarm would potentially leave holes and/or marks in the walls and door frames where sensors and door contacts are installed

My personal recommendation would be to upgrade the alarm system to a more effective and reliable system"

"Hi,

Ordepending on how old the intruder alarm is , its usually better to keep the wiring in place (subject to checking the voltage drop and cable condiiton) or go wireless

Kind Regards

Mike"

"I would recommend a wireless alarm to save mess and install costs, you can also take it with you if you move house very easily."

"It wouldn’t make loads of mess although where ever you take out sensors sounders etc it will leave a few holes
They are lots of decent alarm systems nowadays that would replace your old one"

"No this should not make to much mess and in most cases the new wireless alarm should cover any holes from the old sensor
- it’s also worth seeing if the external siren wire can be utilised to power the new siren to save a trip up the ladder every 24 months"

"Wired burglar alarm system is the best compared to wireless alarm ( always u need to change the battery). If you are decided to upgrade the alarm that old wires will save your money and we can use the old wires for the new alarm systems"

"If your happy with the location of the alarm, best to keep the wiring and replace the devices, if not why not go for a wireless system? Pyronix do a hybrid system part wired part wireless or visonic do a good system with free phone app."
