Removing a tree in stages

Should a large tree near a house be felled in stages to avoid subsidence? If so, what sort of timescale am I looking at?

"I would advise taking it down in at least 3 stages over maybe 6 months."

"Yes, if the tree is near a house it’s best the tree is cut from the top first, taking all the weight of the tree before deciding to cut the tree in bigger sections."

"Depending on the species of tree evergreens that grow all year round can be reduced significantly first time but other slower growing trees I would recommend stages"

"I would leave a twelve ft stump and leave it for a year our so to reduce the chance of subsidence."

"Yes.
Removing a Tree in Sections (Sectional Dismantling) is the Safest way of Felling? a large tree that is close to a house. Doing it this way, also mitigates damage to the Ground Below, and if there is any hazards below the Tree, these will be saved, as hopefully, when you fell a tree using the Sectional Dismantling method, Tree Care Pros are taking Small Sections of the Tree and Carefully Lowering the sections down.
Depending on the Size/Spread of the tree, and any potential hazards below, time wise, the tree should take no more than a day or two to complete."

"You need ropes to stabilise the tree, but you can do it in stages over a days, but...
I would strongly suggest it's done as soon as possible, as the roots may be damaged as soon as you touch the tree 🌳 ... any cutting of the trunk will affect the stability of the tree and maybe cause subsidence.

However, obviously it depends on the type of tree 🌳

Some trees 🌳 can be fuelled in a few days without subsidence if the roots are strong.

"Yes to stop any damages to the property or any surroundings normally top out first take off the long shoots then come down in stages till you get to hight to cut off from bottom"

But does not need to be done in stages for subsidence.
Thanks"
